BAHAWALPUR: District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has directed the concerned officials to take immediate measures for imposing ban on all illegal cattle markets and sale points to protect the economic rights of the consumers.
Besides, effective precautionary measures should also be under taken by ensuring anti-viral spray at government approved cattle markets and sale points in district Bahawalpur. He said this while presiding over a high level meeting on Thursday to review the arrangements of the cattle markets in district Bahawalpur.
“All available resources should be mobilised to establish dip points which should have adequate equipment and anti-viral spray to decimate the incidence of Congo Virus and other diseases,” the DCO directed.
The DCO urged upon livestock officials and assistant commissioners to sharpen their vigil to wipe out the prevalence of Congo Virus to ensure disease free, congenial and healthy environment at all the cattle markets and sale points in district Bahawalpur.
The livestock officials briefed the meeting that 150 mobile teams of livestock have been given anti-viral vaccines and have given the shots to at least 339,780 animals.
